Discussion Questions:

1. According to Peter, how are we called to relate to the authority in our lives? In what way might it be difficult to honor God in this way? What might God be teaching you?

2. Travis mentioned that many of us enjoy the “safety of our own home” too much and do not get involved in the lives of others. Based on his statement that “hearts and societies are changed by individual actions,” what might God be calling you to do to be a better citizen? Who in your life has been a living example of citizenship of this kind?

3. How does recognizing that we are really citizens of heaven make us better citizens here are earth? How would you explain the balance between being in the world, but not of the world?
