Isaiah 38-39
Discussion Questions:
- Hezekiah received a miraculous "second chance" from God. When have you received a "second chance" from God in a relationship, opportunity, etc? What was your attitude in response? What did you do with that chance?
- As Christians in this country, we often find ourselves pursuing the American Dream of security, prosperity and comfort for ourselves. These pursuits are contrary to Jesus' call to lose "our lives for him" and Paul's command in Romans 12 to "share with God's people who are in need." With this in mind, how should we evaluate our opportunities and actions? How do we grow inour ability to allow the love of Christ to transform our lives?
- Your legacy is one of the few things of true value that you leave behind when God calls you home. We learned this week that Hezekiah, who successfully pleaded with God to obtain 15 more years of life, ruined his legacy by not holding fast to the vision he had for his people. What do you want your legacy to be? What in your life will have the greatest influence over shaping your legacy? Will your legacy be consistent with the Great Commission? The Great
Commandment?
