Scripture Reading:
2 Cor 8:1-9, 9:6-8
Mal 3:10, Act 20:35, Mark 12:44
1. What is your current approach to how you “distribute” your money? If you are honest with yourself, what are your priorities? Why do you think our heart follows what we “treasure?”
2. The Bible, unlike the USA Today, does not hold up a billionaire giving half his wealth away as the example, but the poor Macedonian churches pleading for the privilege to share and the poor widow who “out of her poverty, put in everything - all she had to live on” (Mark 12:44). What is compelling about these examples? How should they shape our approach to giving?
3. Jesus spoke of properly managing money more than any other discipline. Do you have a plan for how to manage your money like you might plan to get in shape, to educate your children or earn your next promotion?
4. Travis asserted that “Generosity has to be learned” – Who in your life is an example of generosity? What would it take for you to be a more cheerful giver? What does our current level of generosity and giving say about our faith?
