Discussion Questions
  1. At the last and greatest day of the Feast of the Tabernacles, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice..."If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me...streams of living water will flow within him." - How would you describe the essence of this claim to someone seeking to know Jesus? What evidence can you point to in your life of this "living water?" (John 7:25-44)
  2. What do you think is the biggest challenge to marriages today? Away from what bad habit or tendency do you need to take the first step? (John 7:53 - 8:11)
  3. Why do you think the Leaders did not understand Jesus? In what ways can we be like them today? What advice does Jesus give to them/us? (John 8:12 - 59)

Gospel of John - Chapters 4-6

Discussion Questions:
  • In what ways are we typically more interested in what Jesus can do for us than what we can do for Jesus? How would a true friendship operate in this regard? (John 4:43-54)
  • Why might someone prefer rules and regulations to freedom? How does Jesus' actions demonstrate the importance of relationship in a culture in which rules and regulations were front and center? How does that compare to today? (John 5:1-15)
  • What needs do you spend the majority of your time trying to satisfy? What can you do today to rely on God, rather than on things, people or yourself, to satisfy your needs? (John 6:25-59)

Bonus question - What difficult teaching of Jesus will you ask God to help you understand and apply to your life this week? (John 6:60-71)

Gospel of John - Chapter 1 - 3

Discussion Questions:
  1. How should the reality that God became a man affect your life today? What do you think we will learn from Jesus' masculinity through this Study? (Chapter 1: 1-18)
  2. What if Jesus visited "your temple" - what do you think he would "clear out," much like he did Jerusalem? (Chapter 2:12-25)
  3. What lessons can be learned from John the Baptist in these first few chapters? Much like John did, how can you give Jesus the place of prominence He deserves in your life today? (Chapter 1:19-34 and Chapter 3:22-35).
  4. What else did God reveal to you this week?
