Preview Question: Do you feel like it is natural for you to be thankful for your life? Why or Why not?

Scripture Reading: Philippians 4:10-23

Discussion Questions:

1. What does it feel like to have someone be concerned for you? In what way does this differ from someone just willing to provide you with money when you might need it?
   
2. Many people believe they can only be content once they have reached a certain level of economic prosperity. How does their view differ from Paul's secret of contentment (vv. 11-13)?
3. What is your philosophy of giving to God's work? How might a better understanding of this passage affect your giving?

STAND FIRM IN THE LORD

Preview Question: Would you say your relationship with the Lord is firmer or weaker than it was 12 months ago? What has made the difference?

1. How does Paul tell us to stand firm in the Lord? (hint, look back to the end of Chapter 3) What does this command mean for us in our marriages/families? In our careers?
2. How can each of the promises and commands listed in verses 4-7 help you to be joyful, peaceful and free from anxiety? What examples have you experienced of God's peace in your life?
3. How can improper thoughts rob us of the peace God desires for us?
